One Direction get involved in Twitter row with Piers Morgan after David Beckham jibes !

ONE Direction set their fans on Piers Morgan after he challenged them on Twitter in a feud over David Beckham.

The cheeky boyband got the hashtag #PiersMorganIsSmelly trending worldwide after they had differing opinions on the footballer.

Piers originally sent a message to his followers saying that David should give up his career and retire gracefully.

He wrote: "No serious top-flight team would sign Beckham for football reasons any more – he should retire gracefully."

Harry Styles saw the tweet and replied saying: "Beckham is my hero."

Piers responded: "Is that because he always runs in one direction?"

Harry's bandmate Louis Tomlinson then joined the debate adding: "I LOVE David Beckham!"

Piers quipped back: "Well sign him up for the group - bet he sings better than he plays now," before adding "Can't believe I'm currently being sledged about Beckham by TWO members of One Direction. Boy-band types clearly stick together."
